These two-ingredient frozen peanut butter dog treats are sure to be a hit with your pup!
Happy Friday everyone! The feeling of Friday being here never gets old.
Finally a recipe for your four-legged best friends! These Frozen Peanut Butter Dog Treats are two ingredients and are sure to put a smile on your dog’s face. These treats are good for at least two happy dance jumps from Emmy. When she hears the freezer door roll open she comes running!
When looking for dog treats in the store I am often horrified at the long list of ingredients where each ingredient is about 29 letters long. I don’t like buying myself food like that and I definitely don’t want to buy my dog food like that! Making your own dog treats is a great way for you to know exactly what is in your dog’s food.
I use this adorable silicone paw print tray but feel free to use any ice cube tray that you have on hand.
Step one is to fill each mold with no-salt added chicken stock (make you own salt-free chicken stock here!) until the mold is half-way full. Place the tray in the freezer for one hour or until the stock is completely frozen. I use a small funnel to pour the stock into each mold so that I make less of a mess.
Step two is to then pull the tray back out and fill the rest of the mold with peanut butter. Try to get them as smooth as possible and lined up with the top of the mold. The tray goes back in the freezer for another hour or until the peanut butter is frozen.
To store: pop the treats out of the mold and place in a parchment lined tupperware container. You can do without the parchment paper but the treats usually stick to the container if you don’t.
Make as many or as few as you would like. I have 6 ice cube trays so I fill them up until I run out of chicken stock or trays, whichever comes first.
