Pause Your Netflix to Make These 3 Easy Recipes Using Frozen Pierogies

You know you’re on a serious Netflix binge when you get that judge-y “Are You Still Watching?” message and yell back to your screen, “It’s the middle of winter, my dog is asleep on my legs, and I want to understand those Russian Doll memes, so of course I’m still watching, Netflix!”

We know you have four episodes left, but you can press pause long enough to eat and feed your friends. Mrs. T’s® Pierogies have been around since 1952, and they’re the perfect thing to eat over this weekend’s stream-fest. If you’ve never had a pierogy (yes, Mrs. T’s spells it with a y), they’re stuffed with the stuff you love — creamy mashed potatoes, cheesy goodness, and other big, bold flavors. They’re easy to prepare and delicious no matter how you prepare them — whether baked, boiled, sautéd, or grilled — and they’re available in full and mini sizes right in your frozen foods aisle.

Mrs. T’s makes 14 flavors of pierogies, but since you’re reading this on your phone during the closing credits, we’ll stick to highlighting three of them for now. These recipes build on the already savory flavor of Mrs. T’s Pierogies, they’re ready to share, and yes, Netflix, we’re still watching!

Queso Dip with Broccoli & Aged Cheddar Pierogies

You could mindlessly polish off a bag of tortilla chips, or you could lightly coat Mrs. T’s Broccoli & Aged Cheddar Pierogies with those same chips, bake them until they’re golden brown and serve them with a tangy queso dip. That’s not even a choice, is it?

Queso Dip with Broccoli & Aged Cheddar Pierogies
SERVES
10 to 12 servings as an appetizer

INGREDIENTS
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon chili powder
1 large egg white
6 ounces tortilla chips
2 (16-ounce) packages Mrs. T’s Broccoli & Aged Cheddar Pierogies, thawed in hot water
Cooking spray
1 pound white American cheese, shredded
1 (4-ounce) can diced green chiles
3/4 cup whole milk
Pico de gallo and chopped fresh cilantro, for serving
INSTRUCTIONS
Arrange a rack in the middle of the oven and heat to 400oF. Fit a wire cooling rack into a rimmed baking sheet.

Prepare the ingredients for breading the pierogies in three separate shallow dishes. Combine the flour and chili powder in the first bowl. Whisk the egg white and 1 tablespoon of water in the second bowl. Pulse the tortilla chips 10 to 12 times in a food processor fitted with the blade attachment until finely ground. You should have about 2 cups of tortilla crumbs. Transfer to the third bowl.

Working with 1 pierogy at a time, coat both sides into the flour then shake off any excess. Dip into the egg white mixture. Then cover the pierogies in the ground tortilla chips, pressing to make sure the pierogy is well-coated. Arrange in a single layer on the wire rack and repeat with the remaining pierogies.

Bake until golden-brown and crisp, flipping halfway through, 18 min.

Meanwhile, place the cheese, chiles, and milk in a saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring often, until the dip is smooth and warmed through, 5 to 7 minutes.

Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and top with pico de gallo. Sprinkle cilantro over the pierogies and serve with the queso dip.
